"Giovanni Dolif's support during our Atlantic crossing gave us peace of mind to cross the troubled Doldrums at the start of the hurricane season without experiencing any bad weather or lulls," Hans Hutzler
“From Lake Paranoá to Cabo Frio, Murillo Novaes became interested in offshore races. Smart, reading manuals, mastering electronic equipment, mastering meteorology, navigation, conquering races sailing with the best names in Brazil, delivering boats, crossing the Atlantic from south to north. He became an expert in weather forecasting in the sense of strategic and tactical interpretation for races. This is what he proposes to do and he has all my admiration and support”, Lars Grael
"It was very important to be able to count on Murillo's help along the Atlantic crossing. I felt safer to be able to discuss my decisions with a sailor and strategist like him. And to know that I was being ‘followed' on land” , Tamara Klink

Now, associated with Giovanni Dolif, one of the greatest meteorologists in Brazil, MetPlan becomes a reference. The technical and practical knowledge of both complement each other and the results are even more interesting. It's nice that Brazilian sailing can now count on meteorological services of this quality.”, Torben Grael
"Metplan's online support has always given us more confidence in interpreting weather conditions to plan anchorages and crossings. This is due to the team's deep knowledge in meteorology and navigation. Professional knowledge is always the best option", Beto Toledo (SAW)
Giovanni Dolif has been fascinated by meteorology since he was a teenager and has made it his profession. He discovered sailing some time later, when he was already a doctor in meteorology. He realized that much of his technical knowledge and new technologies and meteorological tools were little used by sailors. The desire was then born to bring modern meteorology closer to those sailors and navigators who are in need of more safety, comfort and efficiency.
Murillo Novaes is the grandson of the sailing pioneer Carlos Reis, navigator of the legendary Herreshoff designed classic “Atrevida” in the 1940s. A well-known sailing presenter, writer and journalist, as a sailor – in races in the position of navigator – and today as a professional skipper, he has always sought to add the knowledge of meteorology and modern navigation and routing techniques to the boats he crewed or skippered. Self-taught, he was enchanted with the study of meteorology from an early age and always had great joy in sharing it.
Juan Martín Queirel, is a sailor, meteorology technician and will soon have a bachelor's degree from the University of La Plata. Since childhood, he has competed in several one-design classes – Optimist, Laser, 420, 29er and 49er –, as well as in ORC and IRC boats, having represented Argentina in several international championships. He currently lives in Spain, sails in the Soto 40 class in Chile and on ORC boats in Europe.
His passion for the water led him to study meteorology and also to fall in love with it. More precisely because of weather routing and the software used for this purpose.
